I have hove-to on my CAT out in the Bay   under fair condition just to check. Has anyone done a heave-to on their boat under “live” conditions?

I have heerd several comments about not overloading the Iroquois. We live on ours and I do not think it is overloaded. Right now we have everything we need on the boat, except food and water for 3 weeks. RIght now without a full load my water line is about 3-4 inches before hitting the top marker line. I am wondering what type of performance issues will the boat have with too much weight, beside speed? I would think it would be more stable, if balanced and just will have less manuvering speed.  Any opinions?

Hello I am wondering about the Iroquois and sailing heavy weather. I have heard one person say, leave one centerboard down and one up when sailing heavy weather on a reach.

Another says both down, but not all the way.

Any feedback here?
